The world is facing a global trust deficit. 44 percent of people living in OECD countries—mostly high-income, democratic, free market economies—have low or no trust in their governments. At the same time, artificial intelligence (AI) is spreading faster than any technology in human history, and its rapid development and adoption in public services risks deepening this crisis of confidence. Today, more people around the world are concerned about the increased use of AI than excited about it.
