SDG16 Conference: Driving Transformation and Coordinated Action for Sustainable Development
- Jun 17, 2026
- 4:15–5:30 p.m. (EST)
- Conference Room 4, United Nations Headquarters, New York, 10017
This side event is a part of the SDG16 Conference 2026, co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).
Building peaceful, just, and inclusive societies demands coordinated, whole-of-society approaches involving governments, civil society, international organizations, academia, youth, and other stakeholders. Governments establish fair laws and accountable institutions; civil society organizations amplify community voices through advocacy; and international partners provide support, norms, and platforms for cooperation.
Partnerships and collaborative approaches are essential to tackling complex challenges by mobilizing knowledge, resources, and innovation. This panel will explore how multi-stakeholder cooperation, innovative partnerships, and coordinated action can accelerate progress on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, strengthen institutions, and foster social cohesion, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development.
