After a series of launch events introducing the report at a global stage—including in key international fora such as the United Nations’ Summit of the Future Action Days and the World Bank Annual Meetings—the Halving Global Violence Task Force now seeks to highlight the relevance of the Halving Global Violence flagship report and recommendations to specific regional contexts, beginning with a launch of the Spanish version of the report to a Latin American audience in Mexico City in partnership with the Mexican Council on Foreign Affairs.

For an audience including policymakers, students, the diplomatic core, civil society, and experts, this launch event will bring together violence reduction experts, members of the Task Force, and other prominent leaders and experts in the area of violence prevention, particularly those with expertise in Latin America, to present and discuss the main findings of the report with a particular focus on the challenges facing the Latin America region, including the illicit proliferation of small arms, transnational organized crime, and femicide.

Critically, these discussions will also highlight the innovative and impactful solutions that have originated from the many impressive changemakers in the region to reduce violence and recommendations to expand these efforts.
